Being recognized as a recipient of the Marcus M. Kaufman Award is a great honor. Receiving a congratulatory email from Judge Kaufman's daughter, Ellen Kaufman Wolf, is even more so. In her email to Eric, Ms. Wolf noted her father's words. Wolf wrote "My Father once wrote: Ideas, values, and ideals do not perish with the mind that conceived them or the life that exemplified them. They live on and play a part in the lives of those to whom they have been transmitted.” Wolf continued, "He would be honored to know that his legacy of equality, fairness, and access to justice continues to this day because of you and your good work." Wolf ends her email to Eric stating, "Thank you again for your service and for embodying the very essence of this award."
